Colin Taylor is a managing director and partner of DLJ Merchant Banking Partners, the leveraged buyout business of Credit Suisse First Boston’s Private Equity Division. He is responsible for the firm’s investments in Europe and is a member of the investment and operating committees of the fund. CSFB’s Private Equity division manages $30 billion in private equity funds, making it one of the largest private equity businesses in the world. These funds include the flagship $5.3 billion DLJMBP III buyout fund. In the past 3 years, DLJMB has completed more than $1.5 billion in equity investments in a range of companies in Europe.
Mr. Taylor joined joined CSFB’s Investment Banking Division in London in 1990 where he specialised in Mergers & Acquisitions. He joined the Private Equity division in 1999. Prior to joining CSFB, Mr. Taylor worked for IBM as a system engineer, marketing representative and financial controller. Mr. Taylor received a Bachelor of Commerce Degree with honours from Queen’s University in Canada in 1984 and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School in 1990. He is a director of Grohe - the German sanitary fittings business (revenues €900 million), neuf Telecom - the leading French telecommunications company, and Safilo SpA - the Italian eyewear company (revenues €1 billion). Mr. Taylor previously was a director of Gala Group Limited, the UK’s leading gaming business (sold by DLJMB in 2003 for $2 billion). Mr. Taylor is based in London.
