Ryan is Director of growth and planning for Emerson in Canada. He holds a BSc (Mechanical Engineering) and an MBA from Queen’s University. Ryan began his career as an Engineer with a Swiss global manufacturer, Huber+Suhner. He held various positions in the organization while helping to establish a fiber-optic manufacturing presence in Canada. His technical expertise led to related opportunities in Vermont, Switzerland and Cuba before he relocated to the U.S. to work for a defense contractor. Ryan moved to Toronto following his MBA to work for TD Bank Financial Group.
Ryan joined Emerson in 2004 as a corporate planner. He led planning and commercial development initiatives in Canada prior to assuming his current role. Emerson Electric Co. is a Fortune 150 company headquartered in St. Louis, Mo. Fiscal year 2008 sales were over $24 billion. Emerson employs over 3,000 people in Canada working in over 40 divisions.
Ryan is a member of the Queen’s business alumni executive in the Toronto area. He currently lives between Calgary and Toronto. He will marry his fiancé, Kendra Newell this June.
