David Sculthorpe, BCom'83 (Chair)

CEO, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario

David Sculthorpe joined the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario as CEO in August 2009. The Foundation, a volunteer-based health charity, leads in eliminating heart disease and stroke and reducing their impact through the advancement of research and its application, the promotion of healthy living and advocacy.

Previously, Mr. Sculthorpe was president of Cadbury Adams Inc., where he oversaw the integration of Cadbury Trebor Allan Inc. and Adams Canada to create Canada's largest confectionary company.

David began his career with Warner-Lambert in 1983. He held a number of positions in the Canadian marketing and sales functions, ultimately becoming general manager of the Adams division in 1995. In 1997, he moved to New Jersey as global vice president, sales and marketing for the Adams Divison, leading the globalization of the business and creating global category/brand management teams. In 1999, he became regional president of Warner Lambert Mercosul - now a division of Pfizer Inc. - which encompassed Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and Paraguay. His primary focus was to create a high performing region and growing the Adams division's regional share of market. He moved back to Canada from Brazil in 2003, as president Cadbury Adams Canada Inc.

Mr. Sculthorpe has been Chair of the Queen's School of Business Advisory Board since 2005, where he provides strategic and fundraising leadership. He is also chair of PREVnet, a national network committed to stop bullying. He is vice-chair of the Soulpepper Theatre Company Board of Directors and is a past board member of the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society.

David earned an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen's in 1983, and holds a Master of Science in Organizational Development (MSOD) from Pepperdine University.

He is married to Pat, and has three children: Geoffrey, Quinn and Gillian. His hobbies include tennis, skiing and the arts.
