What started out as a simple Facebook page has turned into a full campus-wide event with the Queen’s community wearing their tams, jackets and Tricolour today with a single message in mind: Queen’s Loves U. With the challenging year Queen’s has had, the event is meant to bring awareness and encourage discussion on the mental health support and counselling services available on campus. It is also a reminder that in the crazy and hectic lives we lead, we need to stop and tell people that we love them.

“I love you. I may know you well, I may only be an acquaintance or I may have not had the privilege of meeting you yet, but you matter to me. As a member of what I perceive to be my community you impact my life. We are on a journey to responsibility, a journey to adulthood, a journey to responsible citizenship– however you want to frame it—together. If you want support in that journey, or you speak, discuss, or be heard then I want to be there for you. I want to do that because you matter to me and because I love you.”
To learn more about the event, check out the Facebook page or follow along on Twitter. Remember, Queen’s Loves U.
