Petra Kassun-Mutch

Social Entrepreneur; Former Artisan Dairy Owner/Operator & Publishing Executive

After 18 years in progressive positions in the publishing industry in Canada and the US, and after 7 years as President of McGraw Hill Ryerson’s Higher Education Division in Canada, she left a successful corporate career at the top of her game to pursue her dream of starting a social purpose enterprise in a rural community and founded the Fifth Town Artisan Cheese Company in 2004 which became a leading example of a social and sustainable enterprise in Ontario. In September, 2011 Petra launched a new social venture called The Zugunruhe Project. Those in the early start up stage, the mission of this new enterprise is to advocate for and support the development of a vibrant, sustainable social enterprise sector in Canada. In addition, Petra serves as Entrepreneur in Residence at the University of Guelph and teaches a required course in Corporate Social Responsibility. Current Director roles include Nature Conservancy of Canada as well as ZooShare which is an innovative bio-gas cooperative in Toronto.
