Based in one of the world's largest mining regions, BESTECH is a trusted team of professionals delivering industrial, environmental and software development services and products to international mining and mining related companies. Their highly skilled team is well-equipped to undertake a diverse range of projects, with a commitment to performing "On Time, On Budget and On Spec".

Inception

BESTECH Co-CEOs Marc Boudreau and Denis Pitre grew up on the same street in Hanmer and have been friends since before kindergarten. They kept in touch in high school, but "it's a fluke that we ended up in the same place, at the same time, doing the same thing," Pitre said. "We never talked about being engineers... we took the same courses and everything without talking to each other." Pitre didn't expect to come back to Sudbury when he graduated from engineering, but soon found himself working at Falconbridge with his best friend. They talked about starting their own consulting business for several years before taking the leap shortly before their 30th birthdays.

The BESTECH Family

BESTECH has been recognized as a top employer, and with good cause. Boasting competitive salaries, excellent benefits, a company gym, flexible hours and numerous staff events, BESTECH offers a fulfilling work environment. The firm is constantly on the lookout for dynamic individuals who can complement the team and allow BESTECH to continue to exceed clients' expectations in the delivery of quality services and products.

Fullfilling a need

Founded in 1995, BESTECH was created to fulfill the need for specialized system integration and automation solutions in the mining sector. Yet, over the years, the company has grown with its clients' needs and diversified to become a recognized leader in delivering professional services to the pulp and paper, forestry, oil and gas, automotive, manufacturing, municipal and other industry sectors. From its early days as a startup, Boudreau and Pitre operated the business out of a modest single office space on Lorne Street in Sudbury, which has magnified to 14,000 square feet, and the firm now comprises a total of four locations in three cities: Sudbury (two locations), Timmins and Toronto. These developments occurred as a result of continued expansion servicing various sectors.

Today, BESTECH has expanded nationally with contracts in Labrador and the Northwest Territories and internationally with clients in the United-States, Mexico, Chile, Australia and Peru. The firm is renowned worldwide for its superior standards in quality assurance, leading innovations and creating high-value partnerships.

The BESTECH Way

BESTECH's strategy is to provide innovative and cost effective solutions that will satisfy the needs of their clients. Their commitment to quality is manifested in the successful development and implementation of an integrated project management approach, automated engineering design standards, and their everyday communication with new and existing clients. As an added-value feature, BESTECH's knowledgeable team of professionals offers ongoing support to ensure their products and services achieve desired results; thus, reinforcing BESTECH's mantra of "on time, on budget and on spec".

Giving Back

BESTECH and its employees realize the rewarding impact of community involvement both internally and externally. Owners and staff are highly involved in enriching the Sudbury community through sponsorships, donations and volunteerism. With staff involvement or corporate support in numerous local events and organizations, such as Relay for Life, numerous Easter Seals events, and fundraisers for the Food Bank, BESTECH regularly participates in activities geared to improving the quality of life in Greater Sudbury and Timmins.
