Brokering Knowledge and Relationships
One of the overarching goals of the Centre is to build bridges between entrepreneurs, researchers, educators and support organizations.
In the past, we have facilitated a roundtable on venture capital and private equity, bringing together leading practitioners, researchers and federal policy-makers to tackle the availability of entrepreneurial financing in Canada.
The Centre's Director, Professor Elspeth Murray, also serves as the Vice-Chair of the Ontario Research and Innovation Council, a body that offers strategic advice to the government of Ontario on harnessing innovation and entrepreneurial creativity to sustain the province's long-term economic edge.
More locally, the Centre was a key partner in presenting the first Kingston Entrepreneurship Expo, which brought together almost 100 local stakeholders to discuss the challenges and opportunities faced by the leaders of local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Attendees included entrepreneurs, municipal policy-makers, investors, researchers and educators.
