Realizing Your Leadership Potential
This highly acclaimed 5-day leadership program will help you become a more effective manager and provide you with new perspectives. The Leadership Program will take you through an intensive five days that starts with personal assessments and self-discovery. You will then have the opportunity to reflect on your leadership challenges and responsibilities. Experienced coaches will provide one-on-one feedback to help you create a personal development agenda.

Queen's leadership Program leverages the educational power of multiple teaching tools, including class discussions, one-on-one coaching, leadership exercises, and the development of a self-directed action plan for improving personal effectiveness.

The Program is built around a four-step process:
1. Understanding Your Leadership Capabilities
The Program starts with personal assessments and self-discovery. One-on-one feedback will be provided by experienced coaches.
- Assess your leadership style and strengths before you enter the Program
- Work with a Queen's coach to understand how others perceive your leadership style and identify barriers to your becoming a more effective leader
- Define your core values and beliefs and understand how they influence your effectiveness as a leader
2. Analyzing and Reflecting on Your Leadership Style
Gain valuable insights into your personal effectiveness as a leader.
- Reflect on your leadership strengths and areas for development
- Diagnose and address problems that undermine individual and team effectiveness
- Build insight and self-understanding through structured feedback in team meetings and in problem sets
3. Developing A Personal Action Plan
Work with our professional coaches to create an action plan for changing what you do as a leader, and committing to a plan of professional renewal.

Dr. Julian Barling - Organizational Behaviour,
Queen's School of Business
Julian Barling is the former Associate Dean of Research and former Director of the PhD and MSc programs at Queen’s School of Business. An authority on transformational leadership, he has received numerous awards for teaching and research. He was elected as a fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, and named a Queen's Research Chair in 2002. In 2008, he was elected a fellow of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and received Queen's University's Award for Excellence in Graduate Supervision. He is the author of over 175 articles and numerous books, the most recent of which are the Handbook of Work Stress, the Handbook of Workplace Violence, and the Handbook of Organizational Behavior.
