Saunders, David

David Saunders has served as Dean of Queen’s School of Business since July 2003. Under his strategic leadership the School has experienced dramatic growth, including the addition of new and innovative MBA, professional Masters and executive education programs. To keep pace with this growth, he oversaw a significant expansion to Goodes Hall, the home of the School of Business, which opened in 2012.

In support of QSB’s mission to develop outstanding leaders with a global perspective, Dr. Saunders has internationalized the School, adding 80 strategic partnerships with business schools around the globe.

Dr. Saunders serves as Chair of the EQUIS Awarding Body, the accreditation arm of the European Foundation for Management Development, and sits on the board of CEIBS, the China Europe International Business School.

Prior to joining Queen's, Dr. Saunders was Dean of the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary. His prior management experience includes serving as founder and director of the McGill MBA Japan Program in Tokyo, and as Associate Dean of the Masters programs at the Faculty of Management of McGill University in Montreal.

In addition to his strong management credentials, Dr. Saunders has a rich background as a researcher, and is co-author of the world's three largest selling negotiation textbooks, among numerous other books and papers. Dr. Saunders is also an accomplished teacher, having taught at Duke University in North Carolina, People's University in Beijing, China, and at McGill University in Montreal and Tokyo. He has acted as a consultant to numerous private- and public-sector corporations in Canada and the United States.

Dr. Saunders earned a PhD in social psychology from the University of Western Ontario in Canada.
