  • Strong applicants without work experience will be considered if they meet two of the following:
    • A GMAT equivalent in excess of 650
    • Successful completion of CFA Level 1
    • An undergraduate degree in business or economics, minimum B+ average

Admission Requirements

  3. Successful Completion of GMAT – This requirement may be waived if the applicant has successfully completed the CFA Level 1 exam. (Please note that the program code for the GMAT is: Q21-QZ-57.)
    GMAT Test Results: Please note that you do not have to write the GMAT before you begin the application process.

  5. Official Transcripts:
    Official Transcripts from each post-secondary institution you have attended sent by the Registrar of the institution directly to the Queen’s Master of Management in Finance Program Admissions Committee
  6. If your first language is not English and you have not lived in Canada for a minimum of three years, or if you did not do your undergraduate program in English you will need to take an English language test. To that end, we have established the following English language facility admission policy:
    • Applicants whose native language is not English and whose undergraduate university studies were taken in a language other than English must achieve a satisfactory score on one of the accepted tests of facility in English (see chart below);
    • The test of facility in English is a firm requirement and admission decisions cannot be made until an acceptable score has been reported;
    • Test results must be in the form of an official report mailed directly by the testing centre to Admissions Committee.
    Note: Examinee’s score records, faxes or photocopies are not acceptable. Each applicant is responsible for making arrangements to take any of these tests and for all costs that are incurred with the writing of any of the tests.

The following tests are acceptable:

TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)

Requirements:
Computer-Based Test: A minimum score of 250 and a minimum Essay Rating score of 5.0. Paper-Based Test: A minimum score of 600 and a Test of Written English (TWE) with a minimum score of 5.0. Internet-based test: A minimum score of 100 and a minimum score of 4 for writing

Candidates who plan to take TOEFL must obtain a copy of the Bulletin of Information form, and register through the agency responsible for the country or region in which they reside. To ensure that the results are forwarded directly to Queen’s, the code number 0949 (Dept. 02) must be inserted on the request for the Official Score Report.

IELTS(International English Language Testing System)

Requirements:
A minimum score of 7 is required.
