Why go on international exchange?

An international exchange provides a unique opportunity to:

  • Enhance your networking skills and widen your global network
  • Deepen your understanding of cross-cultural communications and strengthen your cultural intelligence
  • Gain an international perspective on business to be a successful global manager
  • Experience the education system in another country at one of our prestigious partner schools

Where to go?

Prior to choosing your international exchange destination, you should review the information on your program portal. This includes information about the country, the school and the academic courses that are offered. This will enable you to choose an exchange that matches your personal, academic, and career interests.

“Before I began my degree at Smith, I knew I wanted to do an exchange in Europe. I knew my time in Maastricht was temporary, and I wanted to make the most of every moment. I made it a goal to explore as much as possible of my exchange city with new and old friends. I discovered that it was possible to balance my commitment to academics with experiences that would last a lifetime. Learning with students from all over the world allowed me to consider perspectives I may have never heard otherwise. More than ever, I realised how the environment that I’ve grown up in has influenced how I think, work, and learn. When collaborating with peers from different walks of life, I recognized our differences in learning approaches and became more patient and curious as we learned together. I would tell others going on exchange to be prepared for anything and know that it will all work out in the end. You’ll learn resiliency and independence on exchange equipping you with the eloquence and maturity to deal with curveball events at any point in your life.”
