Balanced Schedule

15 Months from start to finish

Queen's Executive MBA is an important undertaking that requires a significant investment of time. Queen's has designed a schedule that makes it possible to earn your MBA degree while balancing your personal and professional responsibilities.

By scheduling classes all day Friday and Saturday morning of every other week, Queen's gives you 12 days between class weekends to organize your business travel or family plans. Saturday afternoons on class weekends are available for activities such as working on group assignments, summarizing class discussions, and preparing for presentations. These afternoons also provide an excellent opportunity for tutorials and consultations with faculty.

Balanced Workload

The Queen's Executive MBA schedule typically requires a commitment of 25 hours each week, including class times. Exams, projects, and assignments are divided evenly throughout the year so that you can develop a regular work pattern. The schedule allows for some free time in December and August, and time in late September/early October for travel associated with the Global Business Project.

Please note that this schedule is for the class that started in August 2009. Schedule for the class that begins in August 2010 has not yet been finalized.

Significant Dates

  •  Creativity and Innovation:
    January 17 - January 23, 2010
  • Strategic Electives Session - There are two Strategic Elective Sessions. You will be informed early in the program which of the two sessions you will be attending.:
    Session 1: July 23 - July 29, 2010
    Session 2: July 31 - August 6, 2010
  •  Boardroom Learning Team Sessions
    Classes are held every other week - all day Friday (9:30am - 6:30pm Eastern Standard Time) and Saturday morning (9:30 am - 1:30pm Eastern Standard Time)
  • Examinations
    Some courses have final examinations. Exams are typically held on non-class Saturdays.
