May 20, 1999

1999-05-20 - Queen's School of Business ranks as one of the world's top 30 providers of executive education, according to a new study by The Financial Times. The ranking appeared this week in the London, England-based publication, which is widely read by businesspeople around the world. Queen's is the only Canadian school to make the list.

"We're delighted to be included among the best in business education," said Dr. Margot Northey, Dean of Queen's School of Business. "Queen's has been a trailblazer in executive education by offering a variety of top caliber programs in all functional areas of management. As the demand for executive education grows, Queen's will continue to stay at the forefront of business education."

Queen's School of Business is widely known for its expertise in executive education. More senior executives in Canada choose Queen's than all other Canadian universities combined. Queen's executive education programs provide managers with an opportunity to comprehensively review and examine current thinking and best practices in a wide portfolio of programs - from Strategic Leadership, to Marketing, to Information Technology.

Building on its expertise in executive education, Queen's developed the first Executive MBA program anywhere in the world delivered through state-of-the-art multi-point videoconferencing technology. Senior managers can study at Queen's Ottawa classroom or via videoconference, now offered at 50 Boardroom Learning Centres in 14 cities across Canada. This program has made Queen's a world leader in the application of Internet and fully-interactive multi-point videoconferencing technologies to the field of business education.

Queen's School of Business is rapidly growing its reputation as one of the most innovative, high-quality business schools in North America. The School's programs include: an undergraduate Bachelor of Commerce, with the highest entry standards in Canada and a 100% success rate in placing students in the job market; Queen's MBA for Science & Technology, ranked No. 1 by Canadian Business magazine for the past two years; the market-leading Executive MBA program, Canada's first MBA program delivered by videoconference to sites from coast to coast; the Queen's Executive Development Centre, Canada's most popular university-level executive training facility; and the new MSc in Management and unique double-major PhD programs.

Queen's University was Canada's first university to grant business degrees, and is one of Canada's most respected institutions of higher learning. Queen's School of Business was recently accredited unconditionally by the AACSB (American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business).
