2000-12-06 - Earlier this Fall, the Greater Kingston Chamber of Commerce nominated Queen’s Small Business Consulting Services for its Small Business of the Year award – an award recognizing an outstanding organization of up to ten people. Queen’s Small Business Consulting Services, headed by Queen’s School of Business professor Dr. Perry Bamji, was recognized for its commitment to positive employee relations and customer service programs, and its contribution to the area’s economic development.
For over 30 years, Queen’s Small Business Consulting Services have offered year-round business advice to small businesses in and around a 250 km perimeter of Kingston. At times, the Services have even helped businesses in Toronto, Montreal and Edmonton. Staffed by upper-year Commerce students, SBC provides assistance in formulating business plans, feasibility studies, market analysis, economic impact studies, finance, accounting and systems management.
