Dr. David Saunders appointed new Dean

2002-12-20 - Friday, Dec. 20, 2002 – (Kingston, ON) — Dr. William C. Leggett, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of Queen’s University, has appointed Dr. David Saunders as incoming Dean of Queen’s School of Business. Dr. Saunders, currently Dean of the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary, assumes his position at Queen’s School of Business on July 1, 2003.

Dr. Saunders, who earned a Ph.D. in social psychology from the University of Western Ontario, has been Dean of the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary since 1999. His previous management experience includes serving as founder and director of the McGill MBA Japan Program in Tokyo and as Associate Dean of the Masters programs at the Faculty of Management of McGill University in Montreal.
In addition to his strong management credentials, Dr. Saunders has a rich background as a researcher, and is co-author of the three largest selling negotiation textbooks in the world, among numerous other books and papers. Dr. Saunders is also an accomplished teacher, having taught at Duke University in North Carolina, People’s University in Beijing, China and at McGill’s Management Institute.
Dr. Saunders has also acted as a consultant to numerous private and public-sector corporations in Canada and the United States.
