Student’s Export Efforts Honoured
Fourth-year Commerce student Victor Chan was recognized recently as a gold-level winner for student achievement at the eighth-annual eastern region Ontario global Traders Awards ceremony in Kingston.

The awards recognize the most innovative and successful small and medium-sized exporters, business leaders and students in Ontario. Last summer, Mr. Chan participated in the Washington Centre NAFTA Leaders Program, where he used the contacts he made with peers, politicians and business leaders to promote Canadian goods and services and lobby for Canada’s economic interests. He also worked as an intern in the International Division of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington, C.C. where he encouraged U.S. companies to trade and invest with their NAFTA partners. This summer, Victor is interning at Ernst and Young and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong.
