International students warmly welcomed to QSB

Posted on September 10, 2014
Kingston, ON - Sept. 10, 2014 - More than 330 international students were welcomed to the QSB family at a barbecue at Goodes Hall on Sept. 2.  Commerce and full-time MBA incoming international exchange students mingled with their counterparts in the Master of International Business program during the full-day of orientation. Hailing from 88 of QSB’s international partner schools, this year’s contingent comprises citizens of 42 countries.

“The barbecue provided a great opportunity for students from the three programs to get acquainted,” says Angela James, Director of QSB’s Centre for International Management.  “It also provided a break in a very busy day that included workshops and sessions with academic advisors and tours of Goodes Hall and the Queen’s campus.  For some, it was their first North American barbeque experience. Judging from the amount of food consumed, it was a big success!”

The students attending the incoming orientation represent half of the more than 900 students who are supported by the Center for International Management and flow between Queen’s School of Business and its international partners each year.
