International Students

International Study in our PhD and MSc programs in Management.

Queen’s School of Business is one of the world’s premier business schools due to its innovative academic programs.  Queen’s School of Business has created a highly stimulating and collaborative research culture that enables PhD and MSc students to work closely with their professors as they select a thesis topic and conduct their research.
In November, 2003, Queen’s School of Business became the first business school in Canada to establish a Fulbright Visiting Chair, providing an opportunity for our faculty to forge important new links with their American counterparts.  The School was also recently selected to join an elite group of international business schools and corporations to work with the United Nations Global Compact on their global Responsibility Initiative.
Our MSc and PhD programs prepare students for future international employment opportunities.

Our curricula use research and case studies from all over the world. We actively encourage and fund our students to attend international conferences each year and we also encourage and fund our students to use international data in their research.

The University has a very active International Centre that has considerable experience in assisting international students with the diverse issues that they confront both personally and educationally.

As many as 40% of our entering graduate classes each year are international students; our program staff is familiar with many of the issues and concerns that are unique to those new to Canada.

International Study in Canada

For international students, Canada offers an education system of outstanding quality and academic degrees that are internationally recognized.  Tuition and the cost of living in Canada are generally lower than in other countries such as Australia, England and the United States.  According to the World Bank, Canadian cities rank among the best places in the world to live, work and study.
Canada welcomes more than 130,000 international students every year. Achieving diversity within the student population turns Canadian lecture halls into places for sharing a range of experiences, languages, customs and ideas – a benefit to all of us who increasingly learn and work in a global context.
International Study at Queen’s, in Kingston
At Queen’s, you are steps away from one of Canada’s most vibrant downtowns and Lake Ontario’s scenic lakeshore.

Mid-way between Toronto and Montreal, Kingston is a “college town”, home to 140,000 permanent residents and 25,000 students attending our three post-secondary institutions: Queen’s, Royal Military College of Canada, and St. Lawrence College.

Like Queen’s, Kingston offers a dynamic present and a proud past. The city is a flourishing regional centre of culture, business, and industry. You’ll be able to explore many restored historic sites, theatres, bookstores, cafes, and maybe even take advantage of one of the world’s best freshwater sailing areas.
As a Queen’s student, you can interact with fellow students representing 121 countries.  Queen’s gives you both academic excellence and the excitement of the world. If you want an international perspective, our opportunities will bring incomparable depth to your academic pursuits.
