Expand your knowledge. Enhance your qualifications. Earn credits for your CA designation.

Queen’s Graduate Diploma in Accounting provides an excellent opportunity to deepen your understanding and significantly expand your knowledge of accounting, while preparing for your CA designation.

The program offers four advanced courses that are part of the Queen’s School of Business ICAO-approved accounting stream. The objective of the Graduate Diploma in Accounting is not only to offer courses that will complete the ICAO 51-credit hour requirement for CA candidates, but to offer a graduate program for those who have completed their undergraduate degrees. These four courses are one of the final steps leading to the Uniform Final Examination (UFE) for the CA designation – the most highly-prized and universally-recognized accounting designation. The program’s courses are delivered by some of Canada’s most accomplished accounting teachers and practitioners.

Please note that applicants who are not Queen's Commerce graduates with a major in Accounting, are advised to contact the ICAO to determine whether the GDA courses in conjunction with their other credits meet the ICAO competency requirements. Applicants who wish to pursue the CA designation in other provinces should contact the relevant provincial institue, and those who wish to pursue an alternate accounting designation should contact the relevant accrediting body prior to enrolling in the GDA.

A History of Excellence in Accounting Education

Queen’s School of Business has a proven track record in preparing recent business undergraduates to attain their Chartered Accountant designation. Over the last five years, Queen’s graduates have achieved or exceeded a 90 percent pass rate for first–time writers of the UFE exams — a success rate unprecedented in Canada.
